The Hanford Falcons rallied from a two-games-to-one deficit Saturday night to defeat the Kamiakin Braves 25-20, 23-25, 19-25, 25-23, 15-8 in the championship match of the Columbia Basin 3A League district tournament at Enterprise Middle School in West Richland.

It is the Falcons' first district title since 1987 and gives them the league's top seed into next Saturday's Eastern Regionals at the Lions Den in Kennewick.

This was the fourth meeting between the teams this season, with Hanford improving to 3-1 against the Braves.

Southridge bounced back from a four-game loss to Hanford in the semifinals to sweep Kennewick in the third-place match. The Suns will play North Central in a first-round regional match.

The Lions then came back to grab the Columbia Basin League's final regional berth, sweeping the West Valley-Yakima Rams. Kennewick will open against Kamiakin in a first-round match.

Hanford and Greater Spokane League (GSL) 3A champion Mount Spokane receive first-round byes. The top two teams at regionals qualify for the State tournament on November 10th and 11th at the Toyota Center (Kennewick, WA).
