Ralph Sanner   Soccer Coach 1986 through 1992

Coach Sanner was the first soccer coach at Hanford High School, arriving when soccer was first introduced in the Mid-Valley League in 1986. For four years, Coach Sanner coached both Falcons' girls and boys teams. The girls league record during Coach Sanner's tenure was 51-0-1. That is no LOSSES! Their overall record was 60-5-1.

In 1989, the girls soccer team were ranked second in the nation by USA Today. The 1989 Falcon girls finished 18-0 and won the State Championship. The 1989 Falcon girls team was the first boys or girls soccer team, in any classification, from Eastern Washington to win the State Soccer Championship.

The boys' soccer teams that Coach Sanner coached were also successful and his coaching efforts were highlighted by earning State Tournament berths in 1987 and 1988.

Those student-athletes who were lucky enough to play for Coach Sanner remain impressed with his knowledge, humility, and calm demeanor. Coach Sanner truly started the outstanding soccer tradition that the Falcons enjoy today.
