Ana Tuiaea   Basketball Class of 1993

One of the entire region’s most dominating power forward was the Hanford Falcon’s own Ana Tuiaea. Ana’s infectious smile and relentless pursuit of success made her a pleasure to coach, to watch, and a joy to be around. Nobody could take over a game and dominate the way “Tooz” could.

During her three years as a varsity basketball player, Ana was an unstoppable force at both ends of the basketball court. Ana helped propel the Falcons to the State Tournament in 1992 and 1993 finishing fourth in 1992. Ana set the State Tourney record for field goals in a game with fourteen in 1992 and tied the record in 1993. She averaged a double-double (points-rebounds) in each of her three varsity basketball seasons. Ana was also named to the All-State team.

A committed and gifted athlete, Ana also participated in volleyball and track during her high school career. After graduation, Ana played basketball at Western Washington University and the University of Washington. Ana has gone on to work as an assistant coach at Central Washington University and is currently the academic coordinator at the University of Idaho.
