John Keating Cross Country Class of 1986

In 1997, John returned to Hanford, volunteering as an Assistant Cross Country Coach. Along with coaches Clay Lewis and Sean Mars, the boys team finished 16th, and Adam Tenforde finished 4th at the State Cross Country Championships.

As a senior, John qualified for two events at the State Track Meet, finishing 10th in the 1600 meters, and running on the 1600 meter relay team. He is the former 1600 meter school record holder.

College Sports and Other Activities
As a freshman at Washington State University, John qualified for the Boston Marathon, completing the Trail’s End Marathon at Seaside, Oregon in a time of 2 hours and 53 minutes. John graduated from W.S.U., earning Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degrees. John and his wife Nikki currently reside in Virginia Beach, VA along with their Shi-Tzu/Yorkie dogs (Cady, Cali, and Cody).
