Dan Colleran   Track Class of 1990

Dan Colleran was one of the great “jumpers” in the HHS Track and Field program. He placed in both the long jump and high jump at the State meet for all four years of high school---an amazing accomplishment. He is still the state record holder for the highest jump by a high school freshman at 6’7” and ultimately reached 6’8” at HHS. Dan also played basketball at HHS and was elected as President for his senior class. Dan went on to excel at Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) in the high and triple jump events and now ranks 23rd in PLU history for the triple jump at 43’1” which was established in 1991. In 1992, he high jumped 6’10 ¾” at the PLU Invitational Track and Field meet, qualifying for the NAIA National meet. This mark was one of seven meet records and helped earn Dan All-American honors at PLU in 1994.
